Generally, it’s very easy to get to any of these using the excellent roads and highways. Renting a car is also very cheap these days so it’s possible to go for a week or two to visit one of America’s finest natural wonders.

Death Valley, California, and Nevada

Death Valley is the lowest, driest and hottest desert in North America and it is in Eastern California. Death Valley National Park is near the border of California and Nevada, east of the Sierra Nevada mountains. It is below sea level. Death Valley has many beautiful natural features such as salt pans which developed from ancient seas.

Denali National Park, Alaska

Driving through Alaska is always an adventure and a very memorable one. You start in Washington state and generally drive north through British Columbia, Canada. When you arrive at the Alaskan border you can stop in Anchorage for the last taste of home with its cafes and restaurants and then head out into the rugged wilderness. There are many small and friendly communities in Alaska and the best way to get to know the state is to stay with one of them in an inn for a few weeks. Everglades, Florida

Grand Canyon, Arizona

Niagara Falls, New York

The Niagara Falls are an iconic symbol of the United States and North America in general. No driving trip across the states would be complete without visiting the Niagara Falls. The falls are located on the border of Canada and the United States in Ontario and New York State. The Niagara Falls are the most powerful in North America and are 167 feet high. The falls can be viewed from walkways at Prospect Point Park, Goat Island or even the Canadian side.
